A $0 settlement can make a contract bought above $0 a total loss. Only use funds you can afford to lose.
Model risk
Fair values and confidence scores are estimates. Historical calibration, backtests, simulated fills, and paper performance can fail to represent future or live results.
Execution risk
Quotes move, liquidity disappears, partial fills occur, orders rest, venue APIs fail, and a limit order may never execute. Reconciliation is not instantaneous.
Automation risk
An active live strategy can submit orders without asking again. Configuration errors, stale data, or software defects can create unwanted trades despite safeguards.
Venue and legal risk
Venues can pause markets, change APIs, reject orders, settle disputes, restrict regions, or suspend accounts. Laws and tax treatment vary by location and may change.
Custody and key risk
PredictHQ must decrypt connected keys to sign requests. A compromised app, wallet, venue account, or infrastructure provider could cause loss. Use dedicated limited-fund credentials.
Controls reduce, not remove, risk
Bankroll, stake, exposure, daily-loss, campaign-loss, geoblock, manual-review, and global-stop controls can fail or act after a loss. Monitor venue accounts directly.
